Regathering FAQs

As we begin to return to church in a corporate setting, we wanted to answer some questions that will hopefully help make you feel more comfortable, and safe.

Q: HOW DO I RETURN TO A CHURCH GATHERING?

Anyone interested in attending a corporate worship gathering must register through Church Centre. From there, you will designate your “party” size, and will be assigned a zone to sit in. Due to COVID-19 protocols, congregants must register for our gatherings for ease in keeping numbers low, and contact tracing.

When you arrive our greeters will check you in by asking for your name or phone number. You will then be able to enter the building. We ask that you make your way directly to your seat and remain seated throughout the service. We ask that any socializing happen in the parking lot, not in the sanctuary, and not inside, especially in any traffic flow areas such as aisles or the foyer.

Q: CAN I register for every sunday?

Yes, however, if you have recently been to a service, we do ask you to consider trying to register later in the week to allow others the opportunity to register first. We will consider adding services as needed.

Q: Can i show up without registering beforehand?

We will reserve a limited number of spots for people who do not register. When you arrive the greeters will ask you to register at the Welcome desk if there is space available.

Q: DO I NEED TO WEAR A MASK?

Masks are mandatory unless you are sitting in your seat, and also if you choose to sing. This means masks must be worn on the way into the building, while you are in the building, on your way to the bathroom, and as you leave. Despite our best efforts, there will be times when we cannot be completely distanced from one another, so masks will help mitigate the risk of contracting and spreading COVID-19.

Q: HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN BE IN THE BUILDING AT ONCE?

Current government regulations cap religious gatherings at 150 people, or 30% of your capacity (whichever is less). We will be operating at the 150 person cap.

Q: How many people can be in my “party”?

We would ask that the people in your “party” would be those who you are not distancing from, to a maximum of 2 additional households. We cannot reserve seating, so please arrive with your party.

Q: CAN I BRING MY KIDS?

Yes, however at this time, we suggest only bringing children who are capable of physical distancing from other parties. We will have packages available for kids to enjoy while in the service. The nursery is closed at this time. We are anticipating the start of a “family experience” soon.

Q: Am I allowed to sing?

The government regulations discourage singing, but do say that if you sing, you must wear a mask.

Q: Will we still have communion, and offering?

As communion involves the sharing of food and drink, we will be moving towards a plan to distribute individually wrapped communion elements, but that schedule has yet to be determined. We also will not be passing around an offering basket, and encourage people to continue giving online, by dropping it off at the church, or by mail; however, we will have an offering bag available for people to give to at the end of the service. The debit/credit machine is also available at the Welcome Centre at the end of the service, and will be sanitized between uses.

Q: Will our services be livestreamed?

Yes! Our live services can be found at www.forestgrovecc.com/live.
