Core Ministry Leaders

Bruce Enns – Lead Pastor

It’s been quite an exciting ride, continuing to learn what it means to be a pastor, since 2000.  I have had the privilege of serving as Lead Pastor since 2004 and continue to see God stretching and growing each one of us as we strive to walk in faith.  My background has been in coaching and athletics, but God has a great sense of humour and had different plans that led us here to FGCC in pastoral ministry.  What continues to inspire and motivate me is to see the transformation that occurs in people’s lives when we encounter the living God in Jesus Christ.  One of my life verses is 2 Timothy 1:7 that “God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”  It seems I need to re-claim different aspects of that truth every week.

Personally, I love the outdoors and almost any sport involving water, I still try to play hockey, and the way I get “re-created” on my days off is to put on a tool belt and work with my hands (especially woodworking).

If you would like to contact Bruce or have questions, please feel free to contact him at: or phone him at ext 222.

Dale Dirksen – Executive Pastor

I joined the staff of Forest Grove Community Church in 2009. A lot of my role involves helping different ministries of the church integrate well with each other as well as helping guide the use of FGCC resources to accomplish our mission. That involves meeting with and coaching lots of teams and individuals. I like that I get to help people become as effective as possible in their ministry. I also do the “normal” pastor things like preaching/teaching, working with couples as they join in marriage, and spiritual direction. In addition, I give leadership to the multi-site initiatives at FGCC.

Before coming to FGCC, I had a lot of different kinds of jobs including worship pastor, youth pastor, musician, administrator, and seminary teacher. I am married to Rebecca and we have two beautiful daughters – Andra-Lynne and Reisha. In 2010, we also gained two sons-in-law (Nathan and Seth) and in 2014 and 2015 our first two grandchildren. I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife and family and I also value the therapy of woodworking and golf.

If you would like to contact Dale or have questions, please feel free to contact him at: or phone him at ext 224.

Maryanne Berge – Missions

Forest Grove has been my spiritual family for over 26 years.  God surprised me when He opened the door for me to serve in the area of Missions in 2008.  I have always had a heart for missions – especially among unreached people groups.  I love caring for missionaries, discipling others and praying for nations to know Jesus. It is a real privilege to do that here among a church that reaches out from the river to the ends of the earth.  ” May the nations praise You O God” Psalm 67:5

I love spending time with my husband Scott and our 3 almost grown up kids! I am thankful that we have had the opportunity to serve in missions together in various ways.  God has used them to teach me about love, surrender and trust.  I am refreshed by sharing tea with a friend, being outside in the sunshine with a good book or baking in my kitchen.

If you would like to contact Maryanne or have questions, please feel free to contact her at: or phone her at ext 226.

Brad Berkan – Worship Ministries

In the summer of 2013 I followed God’s leading and left a worship position I had filled for 17 years in order to join the team at Forest Grove Community Church to provide leadership to our Worship Ministries. I’m excited about the opportunity to come alongside people as we explore what a life of worship can look like.

My wife Christine and I have two children Seth and Emmy.  We enjoy going for walks as a family, spending hours at playgrounds – and Seth and Emmy have fallen in love with the Forestry Farm.  I love to travel and immerse myself in other cultures – including a number of opportunities to lead short term mission teams. I loved the time I have spent in Egypt and South Africa, but I have a special place in my heart for the people of Costa Rica.

If you would like to contact Brad or have questions, please feel free to contact him at: or phone him at ext 236.

Harry Strauss – Encore Ministries

I oversee our Encore Adults Ministries. Encore focuses on ministry in the second half of life. It includes baby boomers, builders, and seniors. Growth, engagement, mentoring, and outreach are key words to describe this ministry.

I am married to Judy, and together we have four children (six including our son-in-law and daughter-in-law), and two grandchildren. We have been in pastoral ministry over 35 years having served exclusively in Saskatchewan. In my spare time I like to read, garden, play tennis, bike, walk the Meewasin trail, watch a good movie, or travel.

Community involvement includes co-chairing the Saskatoon Evangelical-Catholic dialogue.

If you would like to contact Harry or have questions, please feel free to contact him at:, phone him at ext 234 or on his cell at 306.280.7147

Brian Wiens – Broadway Site

I began as the Broadway Site Pastor in October, 2016, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to serve with that community. Our Broadway Congregation is committed to being present in the Broadway neighborhood, and I am drawn to the challenge of allowing God to continue to shape our engagement with that part of Saskatoon.

I have spent much of my adult life in various pastoral roles, but from 2013-16 I worked as the Director of a non-profit in Regina, and that experience has sharpened my focus on helping the church engage well with the wider community. I love talking with people about their spiritual journey, and I relish opportunities to study the Bible in order to hear and share what God wants to speak to us.

My wife Aimee and I have four daughters – Bethany, Kristen, Alexa and Anna, and one of our favorite past-time is eating ice-cream together! I also love the outdoors, whether it is walking with Aimee, camping, fishing, etc….

If you would like to contact Brian, please feel free to contact him at: or phone him at 306-501-0139.

Kevin Wiens – Family Ministries, Integration and Small Groups

I love overseeing Family Ministries because I believe that mixing the generations is a great way to disciple one another. Young and old, we all have something to learn from one another. Small Groups and Integration are important areas for new people to get connected. They are also both significant ways for people to grow deeper in their faith with the support of a community. I enjoy helping people connect with one another and take risks as they follow Jesus.

I am married and have three kids. As a family we love to travel, play board games, and get outside together. We try to live our life rather simply and not be too busy. Personally, I enjoy golfing, reading, and watching the Amazing Race.

If you would like to contact Kevin or have questions, please feel free to contact him at: or phone him at ext 235.

Family Ministries

Maureen Brown – Children’s Ministry

I joined the staff at Forest Grove in summer of 2012.  It has been an exciting time with no chance for boredom……God is Good! It is an absolute privilege to work with a fantastic leadership team and the incredible volunteers that serve kids at Grove.  I am passionate about people discovering their gifts and being released to use them to serve in their faith community.  (and if that involves working with kids,….I am even more pumped and I can plug you in)

I have an amazing husband (my best friend) Elmer and we have been blessed with six great kids  (three by birth – three by marriage) & one grandson,  Lance & Allyce ( & Tate), Regan & Lindy and Shanelle & Brady. I love spending time with my family, whether it is a long coffee on a Saturday morning or time at our cabin at the lake.

If you would like to contact Maureen or have questions, please feel free to contact her at: or phone her at ext 223.

Delores Derksen – Care Ministry

I have been on staff at Forest Grove since 2002. For almost  eight years I worked  in Office Admin and the last years I have been serving as Director of Care. This involves hospital and nursing home visitations, flower ministry, seniors program planning, prayer shawl distribution, funeral planning and after funeral care. I love my job! It is such an honor to be able to spend final hours or days with someone who is ready to be welcomed into Eternity. The time spent with “my seniors” are times of blessing and encouragement.

My husband Lloyd and I have 4 adult children, 1 son-in-law and 2 daughter-in-laws. We also have 7 amazing grandchildren! When I am not “on the job” I love to spend time with family, read, camp and have coffee with friends.

Spencer Meisner – Young Adults and Senior High Ministries

If you would like to contact Spencer or have questions, please feel free to contact him at: or phone him at ext 226.

Chandra Styles – Youth Ministries

My name is Chandra Styles and I have the joy of journeying with students in grade 7-12 as they seek to know and experience Jesus in their lives. The Lord got my attention at Camp Kadesh when I was 11 years old. I came home knowing that I would not be able to live out the commitment I made to follow Him if I didn’t have people around to help me. I began to attend Forest Grove Community Church because I could walk to it from my house. Soon I was knowing and experiencing Jesus more in my life and desiring to share that with those around me. It is 19 years later and I am incredibly blessed to be shepherding leaders and students at both Forest Grove and Camp Kadesh who are not so different from where I once was. I believe strongly that the local church is the best follow up to para-church ministries like camp and am still so humbled that Jesus has invited me into helping be the bridge He builds between the two.

I also love hanging out with my ridiculously good looking husband Kirk, sharing our home communally with room mates (and whoever else may need it), traveling near and far to visit with family and friends, and sharing life over a good cup of coffee.

If you would like to contact Chandra or have questions, please feel free to contact her at: or phone her at ext 233.

Administration and Custodial Staff

Anna Erickson – Office Administration

I have always wanted to work in an administrative role and being able to do that in a church is a dream come true. I have a passion for organization and hope to be able to implement that in this role; therefore helping other staff and those in leadership succeed.

I am married to my best friend, Matt. I grew up in BC and attended Columbia Bible College after high-school where I received a diploma in Biblical Studies while also playing on the college volleyball team there. When I am not working, I enjoy playing sports, exploring the outdoors and also exploring different coffee shops. I also consider re-organizing things a hobby of mine.

If you would like to contact Anna or have questions, please feel free to contact her at: or phone her at ext 221.

Anna Robinson – Finance

Yep – I am one of those crazy people who just loved math growing up.  Numbers, figures, graphs just came natural to me.  I love the order and logic of finances and accounting.  I consider it such a privilege to be working here at Forest Grove and to work with people who are committed in following Christ in whatever they do.

I also love to read books.  I read as much as I can – books have always broaden my horizons – helping me to understand the world around me.  I am also hooked on sports.  Nothing like watching two good teams or athletes compete.  I enjoy playing tennis and in the summer I just love to have a healthy competition with the weeds in my yard.  I am married to Arthur and we are blessed with three kids, Michael, Lauren & Aidan.

If you would like to contact Anna or have questions, please feel free to contact her at: or phone her at ext 227.
