Jason Ho- Projection Technician

Lets learn a little bit more about Jason.


sdfIn my family I have my wife, Sara. I have one brother who recently moved to Saskatoon but both mine and Sara’s families are back out in BC.

I have been involved with the technician teams at Forest Grove Community Church since shortly after moving to Saskatoon and getting involved with the church; it has been probably close to two years.

I was involved in tech ministries at my previous church in Abbotsford, BC. There were a few members of that church that had previously come from Forest Grove Community Church, so that’s what drew us here in the first place. Once I saw there was a need at Forest Grove for people on the technical team, I saw it as a natural way for me to get involved with the church.

One of my favorite Bible verses is Ephesians 3:17-19,

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

I see tech ministries as a way to curate the visual experience on Sunday morning, in order to help people connect with God in worship. We tend to stick with an overarching theme on Sunday mornings tied to the sermon which is reflected in the choice of music, lighting, and animations. I see this as a way to help focus people as they come to worship on Sunday mornings. We all arrive at church from different places in life, and with different baggage. These small things are there to make it as easy as possible to leave those burdens at the door, and connect with God. In a way, my job working the lighting and projection is to remove as many distractions as possible, and to provide as seamless of an experience as possible. If no one notices my work on a given Sunday morning, chances are I’ve done my job well!
