An Afternoon of Creative Fun

Join us for an afternoon of Creativity and Fellowship. Even if you don’t consider yourself a creative person, or if you have never picked up a paint brush in your life, take a risk and join us for this fun afternoon.

The cost is $40 per person – and everything you need will be provided. You leave the event with canvas you painted – and over 70% of the money collected will go to “Samaritan’s Purse” to support Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes.

We recommend wearing “painting clothes” just in case things get messy.

Advanced registration is required in order to prepare supplies for the participants. You can register by contacting the church office. Payment accepted by cash or Cheque made payable to FGCC.

O Come Let us Adore Him

Christmas is a special time of year for a lot of us. A time for family, special traditions and best of all, the reminder that God sent His son to earth to be the Saviour of the world. When we think of this decision, that moment of his birth how can we not shout with joy?!

About the Instructor

Martie (Martha) Giesbrecht is a local artist who loves to paint. About two years ago, she started painting on a regular basis. Her favourite subject to paint is landscapes, but she also paints abstracts and impressionist-style pictures.

“God has gifted me with my artistic abilities and I am so thankful for it; it is one small way I feel a connection with Him. I am very grateful for the support of my wonderful husband and daughters.  They give me plenty of ideas and critiques.”

Martie has a number of her paintings displayed around the foyer at Forest Grove Community Church. She has also created a painting live as part of our 2017 Pentecost Service. You can also visit her Facebook page where you can see more of her paintings and drawings.
