Encouragement in the Thick of It: Mission Homefront
We live in a culture that is all about outward success – do more, be more, make more, strive more. Yet our marriages are falling apart. Our children are lost. And our hearts are empty. We are running on treadmills that lead to exhaustion – not strength. Perhaps it is time to re-evaluate. Perhaps it is time to re- establish our homes and families – “Mission Homefront”.
Come be encouraged and strengthened as a mom in three separate evenings that will focus on Biblical truths to help young families build strong foundations to survive and thrive in a dangerous world. Facilitated by Laura Laskowski, a mom of three, who knows the challenges of raising a family well and is passionate about encouraging other moms to live intentionally to impact our families, strengthen our marriages, and build our home front…and then go out to conquer the world! Come to all three evenings or come to one or two – but be prepared to be challenged to leave stronger in your mission as a mom! Cause God isn’t finished with you yet!
“Heart and Soul of the Home” – Wednesday, March 8th 6-7pm (FGCC Upstairs Livingroom)
As the saying goes, “If Mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.” Let’s get to the root of this unhappiness and go forth with a deep, true contentment to lead our families. This evening will focus on the importance of a growing relationship with God as our foundation to our home and family. Open to those who are both new in their walk with God, seeking a relationship with God, and those who desire to continue to grow in their walk with God. As we focus on our own heart first, we will then be able to focus on the precious other hearts in our home.
“Marriage with a Permanent Marker” – Wedneday, April 5 6-7pm (FGCC Upstairs Livingroom)
We all need support and encouragement in marriage – it is not an easy journey to take lightly and affects our family and home in massive ways (both now and for the generations to follow). A healthy marriage is vital to our children – don’t let our culture shape and lead your marriage in the wrong direction – take hold, through Christ, and take seriously your marriage relationship! You will be encouraged and challenged in this evening study to do exactly that. It will focus on the importance of a strong marriage in strengthening the home front for our families. Come to be encouraged wherever you are in your marriage journey (struggling, broken, growing, or strong) and also to single moms who desire to be married.
“Establishing a Solid Rock Foundation for My Family” – Wednesday, May 3rd (FGCC Upstairs Livingroom)
Sometimes life as a mom can feel like we are riding this crazy waterslide that takes our family this way and then that way with no time to breathe. And before we know it, we have headed in the completely wrong direction. It is time, mamas, to do all we can to get off that waterslide and make intentional choices to lead our kids in the direction God wants them to go. We have way more control over our family’s direction then we realize. Come to this evening and be strengthened to make those choices and establish a solid rock foundation for your kids. We have everything to lose if we don’t.
Check the GroveKids Newsletter for this month to see specifics of what we are learning this month and ask you child what they learned about God’s rescue plan in large group this week. We are journeying through What’s in the Bible and each Sunday morning, we are reminded that God had a plan – a rescue plan for us because He loves us so much.
Grade 5 & 6
Please check the GroveKids Newsletter to see what we are learning in our Grade 5 & 6 small group this month. Ask your child if they have any questions about following Jesus or about who He is and what He has done for us. There are some good suggestions for discussion in the newsletter.
Our Grade 6 students also have the opportunity to be a part of our S.I.T program. (Servers in Training) They will have an opportunity to serve in several areas of the church and then debrief with their small group leaders as to how it went and where they feel they may be able to serve in the body. In order to be a part of the SIT program, you need to be a part of the Grade 5 & 6 small group.
